SAN DIEGO – San Diego State Athletics, in collaboration with the Aztec Link collective, is proud to announce the launch of the “Link the 619″ campaign. This initiative aims to generate support for SDSU student-athletes through NIL contributions. The campaign calls on the San Diego community to unite in backing Aztec Football, San Diego’s flagship football program. The goal is to recruit 1,000 members to the Aztec Link collective, with supporters encouraged to contribute an annual gift of $619 or $52 per month, reflecting the local area code and reinforcing the importance of community connection.
In return for their contributions, members will gain exclusive benefits, including special events, behind-the-scenes content, and limited-edition collectables, which will be offered during the upcoming off-season. The “Link the 619” campaign underscores the vital role NIL opportunities play in providing a positive, competitive experience for student-athletes and fans alike. By strengthening the bond between Aztec Athletics and the community, the campaign seeks to provide essential resources that will enhance the student-athlete experience, recruit top talent, and contribute to the long-term success of the program.
“We’re in a new era of recruiting, where NIL opportunities are essential for attracting and retaining the best players,” said San Diego State Athletic Director John David Wicker. “Supporting collectives like Aztec Link is crucial to remaining competitive and ensuring continued success.”
Coach Sean Lewis added, “A $619 donation makes a significant impact, allowing our student-athletes to engage with the community and build strong, lasting relationships with fans. It’s a two-way connection that strengthens the entire program.”
The campaign invites all Alumni and current and former San Diego County residents to join in supporting SDSU Athletics and help create lasting change for Aztec Football. Your participation will contribute to a winning environment both on and off the field.
